Thank you very much. Prez helped out alot as he figured out that the Futro doesn't have the required 12v pci support and how to fix it.

I already noticed that the ESS Solo has a wavetable connector. I found a dream blaster s2 daughterboard at

https://www.serdashop.com/waveblaster

It says it is compatible with most soundcards and it seems to be tiny enough to fit into the futro. i will check if the necessary space is available.

kind regards,
Vapita

Hi Philippe,

can you recommend a VGA capture card for capturing the video of the thin clients? I like your videos on youtube very much. Currently I am only able to record through my DSLR and that's neither very fancy nor suitable.

kind regards and happy christmas,
Ben

Hi !
You can use some not cheap VGA to HDMI scalers, but most offen i use this one, very cheap and that works very well :
https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/32692452101.ht … .27426c37z2utgD

Then, of course, you have to use a HDMI capture device, nearly all of them will work, but i can recommend this one as well, still cheap, with a direct ouput and a small lag when acquiring :
https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/10050012738956 … .3f986c37I0PPSJ
or this one, better :
https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/10050014019421 … mMoreThisSeller

It offers a lot of different resolutions and some 4/3 direct format ones, so that's great for old msdos games !

ps :Whatchout for audio input.

I am using Epiphan DVI2USB (wich worked fine with a generic vga to dvi adapter) capture device. Sometimes they are offered for less than 100 € , got mine for just 40 EUR
Pro: Supports all of the old resolutions, also msdos text and low res ega/vga. Con: everything above 640x480 decreases frame rate below 30fps as it is USB 2.0 (there is a 3.0 variant but it's expensive)

Thanks to this thread, I was able to get my ALS4000 sound card running in DOS on my TR3540 mainboard. I soldered a cable to the pin on the PCI riser card and used 5V from the USB head located right next to the PCI slot. Works perfectly with this card. Thank you guys for all your inputs.
(Next step will be USB mouse support in DOS if possible, and then I'm completely happy with DOS gaming).

Hello! I need some assistance!
I bought a siemens futro s200 to run my software in pure dos mode, and with sound card.
I soldiered the wire to the mentioned points and voila, I got my sound card working, BUT it made me another problem. That 5V wire comes directly from the power supply and it keeps my soundcard's amplifier turned on even with powered off computer.
So it's in use 0-24 and it made some damage. I found out that some capacitors came bumped out, and my sound card whistles extreme loud.

So I need to recap some capacitors, and then move the wire to the USB point, and it will be software managed, not always powered on.

Can you show me the correct pin where to soldier that wire?

Thank you for this awesome topic where I could make this machine working for my needs. 😀

Hi ! The USB connector is very simple.
Here is a schematic where you can find the +5V pin :

Hello again! I need some more help. 😀

Referring to xjas in this post: Re: Quick/easy/dirty mod to make thin clients like Fujitsu Futro S220 or TECO TR3540 works with some soundcards !

I read that some capacitors on the pci riser card can remove the mainboards noise.
If it's true, then what type and kind of caps should I soldier in?

I'm not good at electronics, i only can solder some parts and wires...
