Is there an easy way to identify if a P2s mouse will work with a Ps2 to serial port adapter or if its just Ps2 only?

I have 2 Logitech mice from the late 90's 1 M-C43 3 button and i cant remember the other one ill have to look for it when i get home it has a wheel on it..
the M-C43 with the Ps2 to serial port adapter is not working but maybe i have the wrong adapter is there any logic in the adapters?

DOS 6.22 FIC-486-VIP-IO AM486-DX2 66Mhz 64mg

If a mouse is compatible with both protocols (serial and PS/2) then it will usually say so under it on the sticker mouses have there. Microsoft mice usually are, as well as ones from well-known brands like Logitech, however ones that come budled with PCs usually are not (since they are designed to work as cheaply as posible only with the PC they came bundled with). You can also google the mouse model and see what you get. However the most reliable way to know is by testing. I have a generic USB mouse that costed like $2 and it explicitly says it's USB only, however I tested it with an old PC of mine and it's also compatible with PS/2. Go figure.
