VOGONS

Hello everyone,

I've googled now for quite some time but I couldn't find the latest bios for this mainboard.
It can support any K6-2(+) or K6-3(+) CPU as everything's (fsb, multipliers, voltage) there.
I have a K6-2+ with 2.0 voltage and the board boots with it but sets the default voltage
too high (2.2v), I then have to manually enter the bios to set it to 2.0.
It also recognizes that CPU as "MMX 90 MHz" on the initial screen, in the bios itself
the CPU is identified as K6-III.

The CPU runs as is expected so no issues there. But I don't like the idea of having
that 2.2 volts applied when I switch the CPU because if I'm remembering correctly
the K6-2+ only has a tolerance of approximately 5%, so that would be 2.1V.

Now I'm assuming that everything's needed is just a BIOS update because the board
is quite clever when it comes to CPUs:
whenever I plug an MMX 233 in it it sets the default voltage to 2.8 and only lets me
assign voltages around that value (2.7 - 3.3).
When I plug a K6-2 in it it sets the default voltage to 2.2 and only lets me
assign voltages from 2.0 to 2.4.

Ps:
there are tons of hits on "Legend Superb 1 Bios" but those are all phoney sites
which basically only grabbed mother board names and claim to have the latest
bios for all of them. Sometimes with impossible release dates.

Thanks mate, I really appreciate it. I totally forgot about the web archive, sorry.

Btw: the flash went nice and everything's well know. I kinda like this board
because the onboard sound just works in dos without any drivers and it does
sound like it should.

No problem, happy to help. I hope the BIOS update fixed your issue .

Can you make a photo of your board please ?
We could add it to our project here The Retro Web project - a better stason.org/TH99 alternative
(we already have this board in our database, all we need now is a picture of it)

Thank you very much !

I think we have everything that we needed about this board 😉
