Hi guys,
I downloaded the Ipcas - Usb Floppy Emulator 1.40i software from the Phils Comp. Lab website and I must say, I am very frustrated in using this program. I just bought my new Gotek, model SFRC922D to use it on my Pentium PC, but nothing to do.
I explain the problem of the program:
a) formatting and partitioning of my usb pen in 100 blocks (floppies) is OK.
b) loading the images into the pen (original Dos 6.22 images of 1.474.56 bytes) fails because the program tells me:

"000 floppy disk block, surpass the biggest capability - Try or not"

Maybe I'm wrong? I noticed that in the program screen, in the Capability column, 1.39 MB is indicated ... if this is how it is, then all the image files you meet are 1.44 MB, it seems to me a contradiction !!

Can anyone clarify this problem?
I thank all the friends who replied to my previous post and all the friends who will reply to this.

A hug to everyone, Tony.

1474560 / 1024 = 1440 (KiB)
1440 / 1024 = 1, 40625 (MiB)

1474560 / 1000 = 1474,560 (KB)
1474,560 / 1000 = 1, 47456 (MB)

Most people (incorrectly) simply shortened 1440 KB to 1,44 MB:

1440 / 1000 = 1,440 MB

Open the image with 7zip and copy the content over into one of the 100 blocks. That worked on my end.

Hi Flupke11,
thanks for the tip, but unfortunately it doesn't work with me.
If I understand correctly, should you put the content extracted from the image file into floppy001? That is, all the 43 files of the first installation disk of Ms-Dos 6.22?
When I save, the program still gives me the same message ....

"000 floppy disk block, surpass the biggest capability - Try or not"

Any solution?

Thanks anyway for the help, I really appreciated.

Best Regards, Tony.

Hi Jo22,

Thanks a lot for your clarifications.
I see with pleasure that Ham is also among your passions.
I am a radio amateur (CT7AQY).
I hope that in the future we can still exchange experiences.

You're welcome! 😀

Yes, I am also a licensed ham. And still a SWL, as well. (Even try CB, from time to time..) 😅
I started with a Crystal radio set and later used my father's Sommerkamp FT-277 (aka Yaesu FT-101) for surfing the air waves.
Of course as an RX only. To this day, I think it has one of the most sensitive receivers ever made. And it doesn't overload at strong signals.

- I noticed that you have a PK-232, too, by the way. That's an awesome oldie!
I upgraded one of mine (the MBX model) to a Pactor compatible firmware just recently. 😀

vy73 and 55!
