I have Sony Vaio PCG-N505VE and IBM Thinkpad 390E. They share common things, BUT....
Sony is flying with boot (DMA on) but when I'm trying to switch on DMA in Thinkpad - next boot is dead and I have to do cold reset (I waited for 10 min and HDD LED always ON!) - windows resetting all registry to default! I tried a few times different things, but everytime - windows is working ok, until I switch DMA mode on.
Any chance to activate DMA without the pain?
I'm using IDE-MSATA converter.
