All this talk about the clips being too tight... Just bend the clips a bit so they aren't as tight. Works for socket 5/7 and 370 with heatspreaders.

I was trying to slow down the system further than 133Mhz using acpi and throttle. Throttle acts as if it works. It finds VIA 586-F on the motherboard and writes the register, but for some reason it does not slow down the PC at all. It must be somehow recognizing the chipset wrong or something. First I thought throttle did absolutely nothing, but then when I ran setmul after running throttle setmul says that the cpu is running at 17Mhz so throttle must have done at least something to mislead setmul thinking cpu is running at 17Mhz instead of 133Mhz.

Anyone knows if there is anything I can do to make the acpi slowdown to work with the system?
