My SLT floppy drive stopped working and I need to retrieve some data from it.
Any ideas of how to get a replacement or connect to it to download its data?

Yes, use laplink cable type and make a assembler code in debug on the SLT 286 to transfer the first half of laplink program onto the SLT 286. Then use parallel ports to speed up again, use laplink type cable. Debug is included with DOS.

Unfortunately, my assembler code skill is nonexistent. I do see various cables on Laplink and wonder is the IDE transfer or an ethernet would work?
if you have mode.com on the SLT Laptop you can upload FX lInk to it.
You can use Dosbox for this also if you have no second DOS Machine.
But i would prefer using a Dos Machine.
