Hi,
I picked up a WinSystems SBC recently - NEC V40 processor and I believe a serial console. Runs ROM-Dos. The problem is that there's no docs for it. I've got email in to WinSystems' support, but that's a serious shot in the dark. If anyone has a link to the manual for this, I would appreciate it.

Model: SAT-V40
P/N: 400-0186-000

The SAT-V41 model is very similar, and I've found a few dead links to a "SAT-V41.PDF" manual. If I can find that one, it's probably close enough to get the board powered up & running.

Thanks!
Doc

Yeah the links all seem dead. There are two manuals to the SAT-V41 shown here but nothing comes up on Archive.org or Google so far.

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

I think I got lucky again .

My "trick" is to do a text search in all the file names that a domain has ever hosted by using the the search engine shown here : http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.winsystems.com/*

If a potentially interesting file is seen, I try different archived points in time in order to, with some luck, find one that was actually archived and will allow a download .

Until (if) if we get full content text search, this is the next best thing, IMHO.

Good Job ! Yeah I did not search very deep when it hit 90+ pages of stuff and no hit on sat-v41.pdf, figured on coming back to it later.
One thing irritating is when for years 1999-2008 their website link satv-41.pdf but changed name to satv41.pdf sometime before 2006.
added: And I did not try a partial match like sat in the filter but did try .pdf and got lots of pages. Just rechecked and is on the 4th pdf page ;p
Wonder if they have a SAT-v40 manual but the name is elusive ? Did find this:
http://www.bitsavers.org/pdf/winSystems/WinSy … tabook_1992.pdf but no SAT products
Have run into this many times on archives of Edom/Wintech, Full Yes, etc. where the doc or driver name was changed...

Nah, man. You got busy!
I got lucky.

I spent 2 days looking for those and hit a brick wall. Thank you from the bottom of my pea-pickin' heart!

A quick read says the SAT-V40 is almost exactly the same as the V41, the major difference being a MAX249 serial driver instead of a pair of MAX238s.

This ops manual demonstrates the big reason I look for industrial systems. It has all the pinouts, FULL SCHEMATICS, and datasheets for all the major components. Woooo!

Thanks again!
