Hello everyone,

I was hoping maybe someone would recognize either of these motherboards and could direct me toward jumper/switch settings? Sorry but the board will nto allow me to post inline images so you have to click through.

386

The board seems to be working and I have worked out the 4 switch settings for memory size (for the most part...)

386 Front

386 Back

386 POST Screen

486 EISA

If all else fails I can try connecting the board up to a floppy and running the ECU and see what CFG file is missing. Hopefully, then I can match the CFG file to one in mR_Slug's DB.

486 EISA Front

486 EISA Back

486 EISA POST Screen

TIA

386: https://stason.org/TULARC/pc/motherboards/C/C … -Model-308.html

the 486 I tink was actually made by Intel. but I can't seem to confirm it with my usual sources

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

I think you are dead on with the 386 - I must have missed it because of the difference in how the ISA slots are setup. However, everything else lines up.

On the 486 board I was thinking an ECS EM486 but I can't find a picture of the ECS board (because of the POST screen). This DFI board is also very close. It could just be differences between Rev 1.0 and 2.0.

Thank you!

I have this 486 EISA AT board and the ECU demanded a TEKRAM cfg file when I did the configuration.

There is very little information about this board to be found on the net but it´s faster than my (similar) ASUS EISA 486E.

Thanks for the info. Do you have the CFG files/OVL/etc. for the board to get it going? Thanks.

Look for "!TRM0001.CFG" it´s easy to find.

The board identifies as
NAME="EISA-486C SYSTEM BOARD"
MFR="TEKRAM"

The jumpers /switches are not identified 100% correctly though as far as I remember.

Thanks! With that info I was able to find the cfg file. No OVL file which is weird. All of my other EISA motherboards have an OVL file to help do things the config file can not. Also thanks to your info I was able to find the manual. I did not see the C revision of the MB (only the E) on TH99 is that your experience as well?

Unfortunately my programmer isn't working. To be accurate it is a catch 22. I need the 386SX up and running to run the programmer which I can't do if I am copying the ROMs.

You can use this software to dump it from DOS 😀

Cool. I will give it a try once I get the system up and running. Although I have never had any luck with these types of programs. Have you used it yourself?

Yes. This one is pretty simple. It's the executable equivalent of using the debug command and writing few lines in there. It's copying the first 64kb of the bios, which works perfect for most 286/386 and early 486s.

For newer stuff I'd recommend "uniflash" which I have used quite a lot

Does this work on 8bit floppy / harddisk controllers as well which have a rom?
Is this program very use to use?

~ At least it can do black and white~

No, but I'm sure you can modify it (the source is included) if you know where the hdd controller's ROM is in RAM.

Well I got the board up and running. Ran the EISA config utility and this is NOT the Tekram board. My first instinct was correct. This is an ECS board. The system is asking for an !ECS1020.CFG file. So anyone have the CFG files for the ECS board? TIA!
