Noticed today that one of the P3 boards that i didn't use for a very long time stopped working.
Screen never lights up.
Diagnostic card shows 28 - 17, Award BIOS.

Error Code 28 for Award says: Enable slots 8, Initialize slot 8, Setup 8242.
Brief search online does not return anything conclusive.

Wonder if somebody here encountered such problem, figured out what it actually means and most importantly - figured out a solution ?
Thanks in advance.

Can you give more info ? Board make and model. A good picture would help. Hmm cannot figure out that error code either.
Good boards usually do not go bad just sitting there except for dried out heat sink goop and caps failing. Of course the cmos battery could have failed but that should be a more obvious error

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

Asus p3c-d.
NOS, squeaky clean, in great condition. Well, kind of not anymore really, considering it does not wake up.
Can post a picture tmrw, but I am positive there is no physical damage.
Battery is at 3v, cpus, ram, vga are all in great condition.
Looks like some electrical problem.
