Hi guys, need a little help. Does this Soyo board need the VRM module to operate? I´m waiting to receive the board, but a friend asked me if the board has the VRM module. I said, no. Any links to this board manual? Can´t find it anywere. And i still don´t have the CPU to test it....

edit: found the manual on a Soyo driver CD here on vogons. Found this on the manual:

"VRM (Voltage Regulator Module) Socket
VRM socket is dedicated for different voltages of CPU. It changes the
proper voltage automatically to meet the CPU’s specification."

I think the board will need a compatible module for sure...

Baby AT socket7 - Pentium MMX 233MHz + 3Dfx Voodoo
Socket 8 build - Soyo 6FA + Pentium Pro 200MHz + 3Dfx Voodoo 2 12MB
PC Remake - Pentium III 450 + Matrox G400 16MB
The K6-III build

Yes it appears you will need a proper VRM since the board does not have Dual Voltage regulators. Looks like it only has one.
The P.Pro CPU typically uses 3.3v for it's onboard cache (VccS pins) but the core uses from 2.1 to 2.9 volts (VccP pins) depending on the Sspec.

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun
