The rubber on my 755c looks awful and its soft to the touch. I've seen posts talking about removing it all together. Has anyone done this and what were the results?

I removed rubber from Compaq Presario palmrest with paper towels (the ones that don't dissolve easily in water - kitchen paper towels. Tissues or toilet paper will not work here) soaked in isopropyl alcohol (I used fair amount of it). It worked in my case, there was just regular plastic underneath. The rubber layer was really thick, so I had a lot of completely black pieces of dirty paper towels afterwards. I suggest using gloves here.
