That's redundant. Formatting will automatically trigger TRIM in modern OS.

I must be some kind of standard: the anonymous gangbanger of the 21st century.

Thank you for that info . Could you please be more specific about what constitutes a modern OS in this context (other than Windows 10, obviously), in regards to both Windows and, if possible MacOS and Linux ?

IMHO, though it may be redundant, it would definitely not the be longest part of the process if you decided to do it any way (a few mouse clicks and seconds worth of waiting) .

You can get a Pata or Sata ssd to release all allocated blocks jn Dos by doing an AT secure erase command. I tried it out, but I’m worried that it screwed up the flash wear leveling. There were some warnings I should have paid more attention to when I ranit. I need to test it out some more.

Windows 7+, Ubuntu 14.04+ based builds.
