Recently upgraded board... stupidly forgot to realise i dont have any other mice only PS2, but MB only has AT 5pin,
I bought a converter for keyboard (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PS2-Keyboard-to-AT … le/192948078214) and that works
great, but I totally forgot about the mouse, so question, would a PS2 splitter work on that adapter too? has anyone any experience with that?

another question, has anyone tried one of these PS2 PCI adapters?
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Connectland-070901 … aoAAOSwff1fo9uq

my question is would DOS/Win3.1 detect PS2 without drivers? i wouldnt normally care and just buy a serial mouse but im loving my retro microsoft PS2 mouse

thanks in advance

No you cannot run a PS2 mouse thru an AT keyboard connector under any method, the keyboard controller will not know what to do with it.
Some PS2 mice are serial compatible ,but many are not, and you can use a serial to ps2 adapter.
What make/model is the mouse ?
All mice (serial or ps2 or USB) require a driver whether DOS, Windows or whatever OS.

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

thanks again for your reply! the mouse is the Intelimouse v1.2 (ball inside) , good shout with the serial mouse converter.
never even thought about that!

I do have about 10 mice actually that i bulk bought a while ago (all ps2) so I should be able to get one of them to work with the converter idea,

thanks agan for your advise
