Hi, all

I continue my ongoing quest to find MR BIOS images for Opti 546 and 596 chipsets 😀

Evergreen Spectra is a CPU upgrade kit for Socket 5/7 motherboards that allowed the user to install an MMX/K6 CPU into the motherboard that didn't support it. It also came with a disk that had a collection of MR BIOS images.

That is why I'm trying to find the contents of the Evergreen Spectra Utilities disks version 1 and 2. Version 4 can be found here and version 3 is available on Archive.org. Unfortunately both seem to only have a collection of what I assume is MR BIOS 3.4.6 for Intel chipsets. Then again these were bundled with very late revision of Spectra, so there is hope that the original revision could have come with an earlier archive of MR BIOS images. It seems like the file name for the 596 version of MR BIOS is V076B508.

I've asked the same question previously in the MR BIOS thread and has PM'd the user Miasmark who says he has V1 of the disk, but haven't received a reply after almost one month. I hope a new thread can attract the attention of someone who hasn't been following that thread, so apologies for kind of double-posting here.

Best I can get you is the newer old website: http://web.archive.org/web/20000620185415/htt … s/pentiumup.asp
and here: http://web.archive.org/web/20001028225751/htt … type=spectra400
Somewhere in my docs have links to their OLD website which may have previous versions. Sorry best I can do ATM, have chores to do but will dig deeper when I can.

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

Looks like I have version 4.35 that came with a Spectrum 400. Let me know if that helps you.

I'm pretty sure that's the V4 that is available on Vogonsdrivers. Spectra 400 is the revision that supported K6-3 and other late S7 chips. Thank you anyways!

and version 3 is available on Archive.org.

Thanks ! Curious about those version numbers.
That link says is Spectra 333 CD Install Version 2.01 05/24/99 according to the readme
Ultra ISO CD label: SI333CDV201

The one here at Vogons says
from readme: Spectra 333 CD Install Version 3.00 11/08/99
Ultra ISO CD label: SICDV400

Thanks !
