I got a ABit AB-PT5 rev 2.11 mobo a few months ago but now I am getting the dreaded error (at boot time):

CMOS checksum error - Defaults loaded
CMOS battery failed

Ok, I get it, the battery is dead but where is the battery? I cannot find anything like a battery in the mobo to replace 😐

Reading the win3x page (http://www.win3x.org/uh19/motherboard/show/118) it says

DALLAS RTC may be flat

in one of the probable problems, is that what I have to replace?

Thanks for any help pals!

You might want to look into this

Right to repair is fundamental. You own it, you're allowed to fix it.

The battery is inside the black "ODIN" module. It cannot be replaced, you need to replace the module (or mod it).
