I have an Asus P4SD-LA motherboard from I believe a HP PC as the motherboard is an OEM board it has 3 PCI slots that all work with a PCI video card but the slot furthest away from the AGP slot does not work with a sound card I've tried many soundcards in this problem slot sometimes XP will detect them but no sound is heard, if I use a soundcard with two notches for universal 3.3v and 5v in any slot the PC wont even boot it just makes the CPU fan full throttle and gets no signal to the screen is there just some boards that are picky about sound card slots or could it be more of a dying motherboard all the caps look fine
