I have what seems to be PCPartner VIB876S mainboard, I only found a pretty simple manual here http://www.win3x.org/uh19/public/motherboard/ … c4805934949.pdf and it doesn't explain everything, nor it has all the pinouts listed. Does anyone know what the EXT SMI header/button is?

I also need to make a VGA cable but there is no pinout. I can do some measurements and educated guessess, but if someone already has that pinout it would be great.

I happen to have the same board and I do have both the video and audio/gameport headers. Give me few days and I'll get back to you with the pinout for both.

EXT_SMI: The EXTSMI (External System Management Interface) connector, jumper JXX,is used by some plug-in cards. Certain applications associated with these plug-in cards use the interface for hardware control and queries.

I also need to make a VGA cable but there is no pinout. I can do some measurements and educated guessess, but if someone already has that pinout it would be great.

Pinout for VGA connector (CN20) is as follows:
VGA --- CN20
1 ------ 1
2 ------ 2
3 ------ 3
4 ------ 4
5 ------ Ground
6 ------ Ground
7 ------ Ground
8 ------ Ground
9 ------ 9
10 ------ Ground
11 ------ 11
12 ------ 12
13 ------ 13
14 ------ 14
15 ------ 15

Pin 16 of CN20 connector is also connected to Ground. I hope it helps and I'll deal with the audio/gameport header shortly.

Also, you shouldn't have to make your own as both of these cables seem to be quite common. Just search for 'IDC VGA bracket' / 'IDC audio gameport bracket'.

Found the pinouts of the sound connector, in your picture is a 26 pin connection so should be same:
here: http://web.archive.org/web/20000614014524/htt … /faq/pinout.htm
or here: http://web.archive.org/web/20030407114450/htt … /faq/pinout.htm
Note: the picture at https://www.ultimateretro.net/en/motherboards/6676 appears to have a longer audio port connector (34 pin??) as per the manual there but am sure it is a mistake....
Someone there really needs to add your great picture !

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun
