Hi, I just bought this on E-bay: https://www.ebay.de/itm/Retro-PC-Computer-Int … d-/233996873792

Mainboard: ASUS PVI-486SP3 mit PCI und ISA, CT2032 Batterie, Sockel 3
Laufwerke: CDROM, 1.44MB 3.5" Floppy, 1.2MB 5.25" Floppy
Soundkarte: ISA ESS AudioDrive MPB-000003 / SC1610/11 / ES688
Adapter: CF Kartenleser (Zweiter Slot von oben ist ein kleiner Adapter. Das ist der CF zu IDE Adapter.)

I want to upgrade this machine with (I don't care about money):
1) Roland Sound Canvas for General Midi via Gameport or Dreamblaster X2 (don't know what is better, need to research)
2) Need second gameport for DOS joystick (mainly Comanche game and similar)...probably Thrustmaster Mark II FCS + WCS (weapon control system)
3) Must have is OpenFlops FlashFloppy Floppy Emulator + original 3.5'' and 5.25'' floppy must be available as well. So I need some PCI or ISA controller for 4 floppies with BIOS, right? Or would 2 floppy controller + gameport be enough?

I can remove the CF adapter from the bottom, which should free up additional ISA slot. But I would prefer something for PCI slot with DOS support.

One ISA slot will be used for 3Com Ethernet NIC with XT-IDE bios for networking & large drive support.

I will probably end up with the latest FreeDOS instead of DOS 6.22 😀

Need to play original CD-ROM and floppy drive games + have option to use floppy emulator for bootable OS service & install.

The worst case scenario would be to have some hardware switch between 3.5'' floppy drive and Floppy Emulator with computer restart (never heard of such solution). Unfortunately Floppy Emulator cannot be connected to IDE.

I bought this 4 floppy + 2 IDE controller for ISA with custom BIOS flash. I hope it will not clash with XT-IDE on PCI network card: https://stason.org/TULARC/pc/hard-disk-floppy … s-MODEL-21.html
