I have a gotek floppy emulator with the latest flashfloppy on it. Formatted the usb to fat32 and put the dos6.22 floppy image files on it. Plugged it all onto my 486 machine but the machine will not boot from it. Just displays drive not ready every time. I have tried various other images that should be bootable but every time it's the same. The light comes on when it tries to boot so I believe the drive is recognised ok But just won't load. I have spent the last few hours online reading everything I can find trying to understand how to over come this but basically I don't know what I'm doing so I am stuck.

Hi Jim,
How are you putting the images on the USB?

The gotek comes with a software tool that you use to format the USB into multiple floppy "slots", which you then image these "slots" with the floppy image of your choice and off you go.

The software in question is available from Phils Computer Lab here: https://www.philscomputerlab.com/uploads/3/7/ … lator_1.40i.zip

Install that, open "USB_Floppy_Manager" then the rest should be self explanatory (format the USB using the tool, then for floppy images, right click a slot starting from 000, "Write Image File", select image, then you can use it with your PC)

Hope this helps 😀

Are the jumpers on the Gotek set correctly?

Have you got a ff.cfg file on the root of the stick? If not, create one as per the info here:

https://github.com/keirf/FlashFloppy/wiki/FF. … figuration-File

At minimum just putting interface=ibmpc & host=unspecified should suffice.
