Hi all. I bought a sound card recently, and tried to find some drivers for it. Eventually, I stumbled upon some drivers that seemed to work, but didn't.
All I'm hearing from the speakers is noise that a sound card makes when sound is not playing. There are no errors or anything. Please help!

More details about OS, drivers and audio output used would help .

Are your speakers/headphones connected to the green jack ? This is what Creative Labs drivers use as the primary analogue output .

Are you using KX Project drivers ? These drivers default to outputting through the secondary analogue (I2S DAC) output because it has better SNR, AFAICR .

I have the same card with Win98SE. It is a pain to get working.

If all you want are the drivers, these work.

If you want the entire software package, I do recall finding one single Liveware install CD that supported the CT4780. I believe it was this one.

If you are running it on a VIA chipset, I'd also strongly encourage the VIA PCI Latency "Patch"

Edit: You know what, I got the CT4780 which I have confused with the CT4870 you have. Regardless, your issue sounds identical to the issue I had, so these specific drivers might help?
