Looking to consolidate my displays and wondering if I can hook my old PC up to my Sony PVM-14M4A somehow.

In terms of connections I'll need to convert the HD15 (VGA) cable to SCART which I'm pretty sure I can sort out. But I'm unsure about the video standards - the PVM displays RGB 15kHz - I'll need to convert it somehow.

Possible or am I wasting my time here?

It's possible, easier if you've got a video card with TV out, still maybe doable with the tricks on Tomi Engdahls VGA to TV pages https://www.epanorama.net/circuits/vga2tv/cindex.html if you don't... However, there's some variance in behaviour with TV out cards, some don't put it out until it's initialised in the windoze driver.

Edit: and doh yeah, there's straight up VGA to TV convertor boxes.

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.
