I’m putting out an appeal for other owners of these devices.

I’ve sadly had a catastrophic failure during a bios update of my Omnibook 800ct

This resulted in a bricked device.

I’ve sent it off to a guy that has the hardware to be able to reflash the chip with a working bios, but he’s hit a brick wall of not having the right bios image in which to recover the machine.

He has the FDD update image but it’s not suitable for the rewrite.

Would anyone who has this device be able to offer any assistance and be able to make an image of the bios?

I’ll be honest I’m unsure of the correct procedure but I assume it should be a case of running some software to take a dump of it - none destructive.

If only I’d have thought before attempting my update to have first run some sort of back up for this event.

I’ve had many retro machines and this is the first one I’ve bricked in a while!

Feel free to reach out if you can be of assistance

Attached I’ve put a picture of the failed flash and the last time I ever got an image on screen..
