Has anyone ever done this? My understanding is all you have to do is ground pin 28 (via soldering a jumper wire to say pin 2). I'm asking because 2 of the devices I'm planning to use in a 386 build (a IDE SD card reader and a IDE disk on module) don't have a jumper to select master or slave: I suspect they're hard coded as cable select.
