I recently built a Northwood P4 box in the spirit of ~2005/06 "I need a budget office rig".

Which got me thinking, does anyone know what the price of the 3.06Ghz (curious about the 2.66/2.8 as well) Northwoods were running at the time? New? Used?

I always hoped pricewatch circa 1999-2003 would have been archived sadly the price lists for various components never were.

That was the place to get cheap parts after the computer shopper crapped the bed and eBay became astronomical

Before lycos classifieds became a virus fest (can’t remember the original site owner) I used to get decent deals on a lot of parts like hard drives through there with of coarse one or two scams, as a dumb kid I sold some items of dubious value on the classified site but was honest about them and surprised myself when they sold for a 5 or 10 and the buyer was happy

Bought two 2.8C northwood around 2006 (not sure) or so, around 30 each few months apart from ebay. One went into my donated/recycling picked 8300 for work and other one went to family computer.

Don't know why price plunged so quick.

Cheers,
