Hey,

Does anyone know about a website still online that lists old IDE optical drives ? I remember of CDFreaks that was perfect but it's dead 🙁
I'm searching for IDE drives with good access time, I had an Hitachi CDR-7930 8x by the past and it was very fast as I can remember...

Any help ?

PS : As I want to play in real old days conditions, don't mention emulation software like Daemon Tools please 😉

CdFreaks archive still has the CDRW/DVDR reviews from 2001 and up but cannot find the CDROM reviews:
http://web.archive.org/web/20031207053732/htt … rticle/search/B
for CDR and early DVDR thru 2006: http://web.archive.org/web/20060902042943/htt … ticle/search/B/
One example: http://web.archive.org/web/20040225184850/htt … om/article/82/4
Their old forums are not really archived...........

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun
