Hi guys,

Recently I got my hands on an obscure socket 7 motherboard for which I don't know the manufacturer, just the model: SM-P5TX3 (the one in the first page of this forum: https://forum.index.hu/Article/showArticle?t= … 52&la=155520136). I've been trying to make it work but I seem to hit a wall.
I use a P54C 133Mhz, configured all the jumpers according to the on-board suggestions (I cannot find a jumper manual), 2 EDO SIMM 72 pin sticks of 8Mb total and all of these were tested on another MB that I have and are working.

On the SM-P5TX3 I get continuous long beeps which the Award Bios tells me its a RAM related problem. I also have a PC100 32Mb stick (checked on a Pentium 3 machine and detected ok) which I used on the 2 available DIMM slots and on first slot I get the same beep pattern, on the other I get nothing and no boot.

Because I'm a newbie at this I tried to get my multimeter and measure the RAM voltage, bear in mind that the motherboard has no jumpers for easy voltage switch for RAM, just two wires that are soldered on 3V (5V is open). Both the soldered wires and the a VCC marked spot on the RAM stick measure 3.5V, which I assume is acceptable. Also the CPU VCC slots measure correctly: 3.3V

Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Bother, I was about to say I'd found it list on UltimateRetro where SM-P5TX3 is given as an alternate for a Kaimei KM-T5-T3: https://www.ultimateretro.net/en/motherboards/7907 and that has jumper settings.

But the layout doesn't match. So it's probably the other P5TX3: https://www.ultimateretro.net/en/motherboards/9571 which doesn't have the jumper settings.

Could you check if things will run with a lower fsb?
Given your boards supports 72p Edo I guess it also supports a fsb of 50MHz.

Stuck at 10MHz...

Yes, that's the one.

Tried with 50Mhz and 60Mhz and I get the same results. 🙁
