I recently got a Tandy 1100 FD laptop¹ and it has an empty slot. As empty slots are generally rather bad for computers, I want to heal it.

Officially there was only a modem card available AFAIK. I'd prefer a 2nd serial (RS232) port, though, does anybody know whether the onboard slot has these signals?

Are there any other extensions available? Some mass storage on top of FDD would be nice (I’d like to keep the floppy in there, so no Gotek).

¹: V20, 640 KB, 720 KB 3.5" FDD, boots from ROM into Deskmate, CGA mono display

Only a modem works in that slot. Any drive added must work thru the Parallel port.
