It really depends on what you mean by "better" ... one thing I've found with the MA-12C is that a) they're overpriced, prices shot up after LGR got a pair b) individual volume controls on both speakers so you're constantly fiddling with twice as many knobs.

Cambridge setup depends on whether you have space for a sub, or want a sub for that matter

I have no clue what I'm doing! If you want to watch me fumble through all my retro projects, you can watch here: https://www.youtube.com/user/MrDavejustdave

I'll stick with better made, high-quality modern speakers. The Creative T40-2 stereo set is much beloved for listening to music and gaming in a basic setup, so I may get one of those to replace my mini soundbar/sub setup. Those computer speakers from the 80's and 90's were awful and not worth considering in today's market.

Yeah, I ditched the beige speaker pursuit and went with some nice Edifiers: https://cplonline.com.au/speaker/edifier-spea … f-speakers.html

Only complaint with these particular ones is that the combined volume / power / input switching control is a bit tedious, and the slimline remote sucks. But for sound quality compared to the old plastic stuff, oh baby. And the aesthetic works fine for me.
