I'm currently building a Retro Windows XP Gaming PC, here are my specs:

CPU - AMD A8-6500 APU with Radeon(tm) HD graphics

Memory - Kingston 4 GHZ DDR3 1600 MHz

1 TB Seagate Driver

Windows XP 32bit SP3

I have games ranging from 1997 - 2009

I've been looking for a great GPU, and I recently had a choice of choosing between a GTX 460 and a GTX 680. I chose the 680 due to the 460 having the awful Fermi Architecture.

I know it's overkill, but I thought I'd give it a try

I installed driver 340.52 and I'm facing issues with running a lot of older games.

Here's what I see when I run NHRA Drag Racing 2:

I'd like to find a solution as soon as possible, I can try to return the GPU back and try something less powerful. Should I downgrade the driver? Should I use older hardware?

I was reading somewhere the other day someone saying NHRA DR2 gets corruption on Geforce 6x00 series upwards, and one either had to use an older card or a glide wrapper.

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

Trying to run old games on that hardware you're asking for all kinds of trouble. opinions on great GPU vary. I wouldn't consider anything newer than a ATI X800 or Geforce FX5900 great at any old games. Those are about the highest you can go without running into problems.

What Should I do? Should I Downgrade to a different GPU? I can try to get a GTX 200 Series Card from the same place I got the GTX 680 from

Are there any solutions with the current hardware that I have?

Shit really? Had no idea that was an issue, I appreciate you letting me know. Any Glide Wrappers you can recommend for WinXP 32 Bit?
