I recently picked up some retro hardware and one of the items that I acquired is a Powerleap PL-370/T with a 1.4GHz Celeron. My understanding is that this is a Tualatin S370 to S370 adapter to allow the use of Tualatin processors on older S370 motherboards.

My question is, do you think this could work in a generic 370 to Slot 1 Slocket to put a Tualatin in a Slot 1 motherboard?

Should work, although you will have problems with mounting.

That and you may encounter issues with the board's BIOS not liking a CPU that new .

Also, your Slot 1 motherboard must support voltages low enough for Coppermine CPU's. The chip on this adapter is a voltage clamp for signals (as seen on many slotkets), not a VRM.

Board is an Abit VA6 - so it should be good.

The Powerleap has it's own 5v in supply and configurable voltages also?

Those jumpers probably just change the requests the CPU makes to the motherboard, similarly to the jumpers present on slotkets. Not sure about the 5V connector though, might be for the voltage clamp. If it actually had a VRM you'd see capacitors, coils, mosfets.
