I’ve had this idea for a while to build a ultra slim build for a tyan s1564d More I think about it, more I think maybe it should be a custom acrylic case. Possibly even a laptop build! Who knows if I’ll ever get around to this but figure I’ll document the idea, maybe turn it into a build thread one day.

These are the parts I am thinking of using:
-tyan s1564d
-Slim laptops cd/DVD burner drive ide with adapter for 40 pin
-1U heatsinks
-Dual 233mmx
-Gotek probably removed from housing.
-RH pci L riser
-LH pci L riser
-Disk on module
-Pico psu
-Pico psu to AT adapter with right angle setup
-Pci radeon 7500
-Pci audigy 2 zs

-
Sphere’s socket 5/7 cpu collection.

That reminded me of this pretty thing that circled the interwebs many moons ago:

And that via an image search led me to:

Which is a goldmine of old stuff!

Makes sense really, my dual PPro lives in a full ATX case.
Currently its my NT3.5 server, also thinking about installing Netware, both to just play around with.
but most the year it sits dormant and taking up space, space I could use for another retro build
