I have this handme down packardbell 20cd system that had bad install of windows 95.
Wanted to use the master cd to restore original system.
But couldn't find the bootdisk,so had to go online to get a recovery bootdisk.
And ran into problem because it ask for format number, which I thought was the sticker on the hard disk which is 555583 but the master cd doesn't go that high. In the a folder in folder bu. It goes to 555528.

You need a slightly newer PB Restore CD. According to some the disk for Legend 20CD is disk #170210, PBMMCS10_R3 or R4 for the proper .scr # (script) file to be there.
This one (170210 R4 has a 555583.scr in the /BU folder (under /A and another folder /K).
Although it is an Alcohol 120% .MDF file you should be able to change to .ISO and burn with any standard burner app. Make sure you get the boot floppy too id different than the one you have.
