I recently obtained this Memorex Telex branded 286 computer as part of a group of other retro computers, and I'm hoping someone out there can help me find more information about it. Specifically I'm trying to find out what the DIP switch blocks control and what exactly the BNC connector on the back of the machine is for. Any help is appreciated, I'd never even seen a picture of one of these before I found one!

Interesting ! Most likely ArcNet connector and the dips are for setting the Node. From quick search about that time period Telex sold networked computers to the Airline and other industries.
Cannot find any data on that model...

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

The Telex (Corp) 1220 was rebranded as the Memorex Telex 7020 around that time, following the merger - https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=5D4EAAAAM … A4MQ6AF6BAgeEAM

Some info from their monthly house newsletter - https://mrxhist.org/docs/Brag_5557.pdf

I wonder if the external DIPs are for the BNC connector or the monitor connection, and there's at least two banks of DIPs inside for other things as well. It's surprisingly complex for such a compact system!

Nice find PC Hoarder, lots of old M-T docs at that site !
Too bad TH99 did not have it, saw the 7045 286 and 7065 386 plus two others there.
I would think the DIPS on the board are for internal usage and the DIP at back for the NIC... maybe ;p
Am wondering if the board could be one from Unisys which has some history with Boroughs and Memorex... it resembles a Unisys 386 and 486 board am familiar with,
with everything onboard the way it looks.....just a thought.
