Hello. I have 3c900-COMBO to PCI and I'm starting to be lost.
My goal is netboot of my linux distribution but it fails on BootROM side for my now.
I was able to use Bootware on 3c509 and MBA solution on newest 3com PCI card (newer than 3c900).

1) BootWare were flash to AT29C512. During boot it just fails.
2) ROM seems to be present.
3) bwupdate dies while: checking ROM status and then nothing. So I'm not able to flash EEPROM directly from PC (i'm using EEPROM programmer).
4) Config is ok. All tests passed.

My testing bet is just some trash with 3 GHz Celeron D so maybe it's to new (some shadow/copy ROM to RAM issues?)

Or do you have some experience with booting 3com cards or do you have right BootROM for this card (maybe I'm using wrong BootROM? Downloaded from: https://lepszyserwis.pl/x86_info/3com-3c509b- … sk-v5-4-3c5x9x/).

Or any other ideas?

Thank you for your time.

Seems to be solved now \o/.

How? I just got my hands on 486 system with PCI bus and it just started to work.
Then issue were in my test bet. Cpu/BIOS were too much new.

So I'm going to update and test my gray486linux -> https://github.com/marmolak/gray486linux and play with it.
