So in one of the many old PC boxes I've acquired, I found a 30 GB Quantum Fireball LCT 15 hard drive, which upon looking up the specs, it appears it's a 4400 spindle speed, which I know is slow, but I wonder if it would be tolerable in a period correct 1997 system with a 233 MHz Pentium. Size wise it's perfect for what I want that system for, which is a DOS/Windows 98 PC, and the Windows games I'll be playing on it will also be from the same time period. I'll go ahead and give it a shot and see how it goes, just wondering if anybody else is using a similar speed drive in an old system and what the experience has been.

The first LCT's came out in 1999 and were already more than enough for basic systems, so a much later drive like the LCT 15 is doubtless fine for your build.

Back in the day, I had a LPS prodrive 120 which is 2 head spinning 4500rpm which is very quick for a 486. Replaced later on for regular Quantum 210mb from Quantum when that 120mb failed twice and asked for 200 mb class instead.
