Hi,

I hope this topic is not too unvintage for the forum and some around here might be able to point me in the right direction.

I just got hold of a FIC SD 11 motherboard with a AMD K7 600 MHz on it.
Unfortunately it seems quite dead. There is no beep codes or anything.
I used one of these PCI test cards and it gets stuck at D4 (it is an AMI bios and that means it is testing base memory) so naturally I tried differend SDRAM modules to see if that helps, but unfortunately it doesn't.

So I popped out the multimeter and checked some rails.
The CPU seems to be getting its 1.6V just fine, but the 5V rail is at 4.8V on the molex connectors and at around 4.6V at various points on the motherboard.
Is it possible that the power supply is not right for that board?
I mean it is specced to deliver 5V @25A and the CPU has a TDP of around 50W, so for sure it can't be that right?

*edit*
I measured the 5V lines on the ATX connector with a current clamp: it's drawing 5,2A. So That doesn't really explain that voltage drop to me.

I'd really excited for some opinions on that.

Cheers

Ok It works now, it just seems to be super picky about the ram.
I tried over 20 SDRAM modules until one of them worked with it. (all of them work just fine on my older AMD K6 III+ by the way)
Not sure if that is a bios problem... according to theretroweb.com i already have the most recent bios (NC611)
