My website is indeed still up. 😀
I checked the statistics logs and I don’t see any downtime this month.

Maybe you used an older link to my Chkcpu page from your bookmarks?
Last May I had to move my website to a new home.
For more than 25 years my “Jan's PC Upgrade problems Page” could be found at http://web.inter.nl.net/hcc/J.Steunebrink/ but my internet provider stopped supporting these traditional homepages. So I moved my website to a new domain at http://www.steunebrink.info

I did update the link to the Chkcpu page in the first post of this thread so you can use that to get the Chkcpu tool. I prefer to keep the link there, and not the tool itself, so people can read the information for Chkcpu from my page and choose if they want to download the DOS or the Win32 version (or both). 😉

No, I went to the new domain. Strange, I'm attaching screenshots of what I get if I go to the website and to the chkcpu page. I'll try later with a vpn and report back.

Edit: ok I tried with Firefox instead of Chrome and it works fine. Weird that Chrome doesn't like something.

My website doesn’t support secure access via https (yet). So starting the url with https://www..... Will give you a ‘not found’ error on most modern browsers.

Typing http://www.steunebrink.info/ or just www.steunebrink.info will get you on my homepage.
Note that my website is still an old static site, containing only fixed html pages. A database for storing user access data is not used and sending or receiving personal data is not possible. In addition, any form of cookies aren’t used either.

I am looking into updating my website to a more modern site that scales well on smaller screens, and I will definitely start using https support then. But at the moment I believe using http only is still safe for the present static form.

Yep, in chrome if you force http it works. But if you omit http:// form the url it assumes it's https and it doesn't.

Curious, was Firefox just updated this morning?
Assuming https if no http was forced is probably a good thing. Enhances internet security. 😀

IE11 is old and no longer updated, so that should keep working without forcing http. 😉

So Google Chrome already made the step to discourage the use of http.
Strange that Microsoft’s Edge browser, which uses the same chromium base, still allows http access when just entering the www…. string.
Will probably be gone tomorrow as well. 😀

No, the 05CCh/05C8h CPUID of the K6-2+/K6-III+ with disabled on-die L2 cache is not yet added, but it is on the list for the next CHKCPU v1.28 release.

At the moment I’m busy with several BIOS mods and the DIY BIOS patching story, but I expect to release a new CHKCPU version later this year. 😉

by the way, if there’s any way to include a note when the CPU is detected, we would love to hear about any found in the wild. As far as I know, I don’t think any exist without manually creating them.
