I've gotten to my wits end trying to troubleshoot this problem so hopefully someone here can help me. I've been working on putting together a late era XP (and maybe a little into Vista!) machine and I've been running into an issue that none of my high end cards (GF 9800 GTX+ and X1900 AIW) will display but when I stick in a GF 210 or 7300 GS, it displays just fine; Fans and lights for the big boys turn on when the system is powered on. Any thoughts?

Specs for the system are:
Motherboard: GigaByte GA-EP43-UD3L
CPU: C2D E6400
GPU: GF 9800 GTX+ or X1900 AIW (leaning towards using the AIW)
Memory: 4GB (2 sticks) of Patriot PDC22G6400ELK
PSU: EVGA 600W 100- BR-0600-K1

Thanks!

First thing I'd do is try the graphics cards in another PC.

The 9800 does display on another system when I was troubleshooting. The X1900 I just picked up today so I haven't had a chance to evaluate the "tested - working" claim.

Maybe try another power supply, I'm sure that EVGA is rated to be more than enough but stuff does break/wear out.

The PSU is brand new but I tried a known good one just to see in both the original system and a different mobo with the same result. I'm starting to think I might have gotten unlucky and got two duds in a row. I do have a sealed 9800 GT that I was saving for a special occasion but I'm half tempted to pop it open and see if I get the same result.

Hi,
You wrote nothing about BIOS. I would try to update BIOS (or downgrade BIOS). But be careful to choose the BIOS, because Gigabyte often has different files for a different motherboard's hardware revision. You can find the revision in a bottom left corner of the motherboard.
