I'd try BIOS image from here: https://www.vgamuseum.info/index.php/cpu/item … ital-wd90c33-zz
As a BIOS replacement chip - Winbond W27C256 should be sufficient. As an eprom programmer I recommend the TL866 (or anything else that is within your reach. Willem programmer - if you have computer with LPT port).

1) VLSI SCAMP /286@20 /4M /CL-GD5422 /CMI8330
2) i420EX /486DX33 /16M /TGUI9440 /GUS+ALS100+MT32PI
3) i430FX /K6-2@400 /64M /Rage Pro PCI /ES1370+YMF718

The video RAM is 1MB, and can be upgraded to 2MB using 8 chips of 256K x 4 fast page mode DRAM in DIP20 case. Typical type number are 44256 or 514256 Surprisingly, the soldered first megabyte is quite fast: It has an access time of 45ns. Usually, you find the DIP20 RAM chips at speeds of 60 to 80 ns. For most applications of 486 retro PCs, 1MB is enough, so I would postpone RAM upgrades for now, unless you already have the required chips at hand.
