Hello.

I ordered a new PC case for my retro Pentium 4 system. It's an Inwin IW-J508TA case, nice classic looking but very weird drive holes/bays.

The floppy drive fits its bay but the screw holes don't match at all. Or perhaps I'm just too tired and missing something?

Tried two different floppy drive brands, didn't help.

So, any clue?

I can't be sure from the photos, but my suspicion is that case uses spring loaded drive rails - hopefully you received them with the case. Something like these:

Attached image, I received too many these ones, tried to fit them to the fdd, but I couldn't.. I don't even know if these would help.

They do seem to be the correct rails...

Thanks for the image.

It seems the drive doesn't really fit in that way?

When it has no rails mounted, it fits the bay completely, without any space left..

I suspect you need to remove the case front cover

That was it! Thanks a lot, red-ray!

Thank you everyone.

And one more question;

This PC case came with a PSU called Power Man, model: ip-p350gj2-0

It seems its fan doesn't spin, is that normal (thinking perhaps it'd run when it got a higher load) or it's simply a defect PSU? (As this is actually a very old case (new old stock)

I don't really want to learn the answer after a voice of explosion here..😀 Wanted to ask here.

There are modern (< 10 years old?) PSUs that have Zero RPM mode, but my guess is that the fan and/or PSU is faulty. When was the PSU manufactured?

Were it my PSU I would open it up and check that the fan spins when I connected 12 volts to it and if the PSU is > 15 years old bin it and get a modern PSU.

No idea, it doesn't tell nowhere on it..

Wild ass-guess from the serial number: 2006

But as you can see 50 seconds into https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q129AbHL0ek the fan seems supposed to spin all the time...

Could you please kindly upload harddisk mounting part of the same manual? Thank you!
