The specs for the K6-2+ that I have (533mhz) has a 97mhz bus and 5.5x multiplier running at 2.0v. How do I manage the jumper settings on the ASUS P5A v1.06 for this CPU?
The options on the board don't account for a 97mhz bus but there is a 100mhz and a 95mhz but running that at 5.5x doesn't work, the machine doesn't post.

Any thoughts?

If the system doesn't post at 95x5.5=522MHz, there's more going wrong than just missing the 97MHz option.

P5A rev 1.05 and 1.06 are known to have compatibility issues with K6Plus CPUs like yours that require a hardware mod. See: K6-2/3+ Success on Asus P5A 1.06 - simple mod

However symptom of that issue was slowness, not inability to boot. So before you break out the soldering iron, I'd suggest a bit more troubleshooting.

First off, does the system boot at other, slower settings?

If not, are board, CPU and RAM known good? Test them with different components to be sure.

If it does boot at slower settings, find out if you are limited by FSB or CPU clock: try setting to 100MHz FSB with much lower multiplier (i.e. 2.5x 100MHz), and to lower FSB with high multiplier (eg. 6x83MHz ; the K6-2+ re-maps 2x to 6x, so jumper multiplier to 2 in that case).

That mobo has misprinted voltage jumper settings... With 2V set on jumpers it gives 0V 😁

So set jumpers to 2,1V and it will work.

I'll give that a try thank you 😊

Yep that works thank you 👍
