Hi Vogons,

Been seeing several problems with old CCFL backlights been cropping up lately on 286, 386, 486 portables, and stumbled upon this which appears to be a Linear Technology application note as to how to use their chips in a system to control the CCFL backlight for an LCD panel. So I thought it would be good for study for assisting troubleshooting.

Application notes often get followed very closely, so if you have a Linear Tech chip in your machine, you might find this is highly similar to what is in your machine...
