This Toshiba worked perfectly for a long time.
Until the day before yesterday.
The screen lights up at start-up, it remains 'light', but gives no image.
On an external screen (Fn+F5) I get a perfect image, but when I switch back to the internal screen nothing happens: the screen remains light but nothing more.
Even with a flashlight, there is no (vague) image on the screen.
I already disconnected the screen, but that didn't help either.
And since I'm not a specialist... Does anyone know what's broken (or could be broken)?...
Thanks!

Thanks for your reaction!
I just tried it with contact cleaning spray, but the problem remains.
The backlight works perfectly (which I can see when switching to the external screen). So I'm afraid it's the inverter?
Unless someone can help me further...

It looks like a capacitor on the LCD unit has exploded.
That is a pity, because those screens are very expensive on Ebay..

Oh thats too bad. Old LCD replacements can be expensive. Can the capacitor maybe be replaced?

I cannot replace the capacitor, but a friend of mine asked me to send the circuit board to him.
This weekend he would try it ...
In stores you will no longer be helped here: they refuse to work on prints. I knew one place where they did it, but that shop is closed now.
A new screen is indeed excessive expensive: € 130 to € 230 on eBay, without shipment or input costs. So I hope ... and I'll let you know!

That's a shame, I was going to suggest squeezing the left side lower corner of the screen bezel since that's where the connector is and oxidation could do this.
But that's far worse, looks like the surface mount caps have been leaking and corroding for a while and now shorted something.

Should be fixable unless it broke some other components.
What's the part code of the LCD panel? I can't find a reference anywhere - looks like it might be a Toshiba panel?
