I wanted to try the Geforce4 MX440 video card but after put it in the Sil3114 SATA PCI card stopped being recognized at all.
It doesn't even show up during the boot sequence. Tried again the previous video card and the sil3114 works normally.

I think there is some confliction with the ROM addresses? Is there something I can do about that?

I'm guessing it's IRQ conflict.
Not sure if your BIOS has option for it, but you could try play around "Assign IRQ to VGA" option (Enable/Disable).
Alternatively, change PCI port SIL card is in (in case AGP and first PCI for example, have shared IRQ).

Thanks a lot! You pointed me to the right direction, it wasn't the "Assign IRQ to VGA" option but I shuffled the PCI cards around and now everything works.
