Bit of a long shot, but I thought it was worth a shot.

After spending more time than I'd like to admit trying to get 4 seperate serial mice to work with this motherboard, I've given up on serial and now need to attempt to connect a PS/2 mouse to this old hardware.

There is an 8 pin header on the board, but try as I might I can't find a pinout diagram for this specific motherboard.

All I've managed to do so far is identify that:
Pin 1 - +5v
Pin 2 - Ground
Pin 3 - Unsure
Pin 4 - +5v
Pin 5-7 - NFI
Pin 8 - +5v

I only have access to a multimeter. Anyone know how I can identify the clock and data pins without just YOLOing it? Or has anyone got any inside info on this thing to make my life a little easier?

This is the only thing I could find about the 8 pin header
Pin 1--> . . <-- Pin 2
Pin 3--> . . <-- Pin 4
Pin 5--> . . <-- Pin 6
Pin 7--> . . <-- Pin 8

ANS) The correct PS/2 pinouts for this board are:
1 - Mouse Clock
2 - Ground
3 - Open
4 - Mouse Data
5 - Open
6 - Open
7 - Open
8 - V.C.C.

with 1, 4 and 8 showing voltage (yes the clock and data can) and 2 as ground I think it is same....

Added: I would double check Pin 8 to a +5v point at the PSU connector with Power off, use Ohms mode and it should be no more than a few Ohms.....

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun
