I have a VTech 35-8258-03 motherboard on which I now have a pentium 200mhz processor. I would like to update it to a pentium 233mhz processor. In the manual I found here https://theretroweb.com/motherboards/s/pcpart … 58-xx#downloads the 100mhz processor says /233 and k6 233, but it doesn't say how to set the multiplier to 3.5. Can someone tell me how to set the jumpers to get the multiplier to 3.5?

Believe 1.5x was repurposed to mean 3.5x, that's why they're telling you to jumper the multiplier as if it were 100 MHz

Thank you very much Jake. I did as you advised and it works OK.

There's no such thing as a "Pentium 233", only a Pentium MMX 233. That difference is important as the Pentium was a single-voltage CPU running at 3.3V where the Pentium MMX uses split voltage, with I/O still running at 3.3V, but the core requires 2.8V. Now, the Pentium MMX was hugely overengineered and can survive being run at 3.3V, but it's a huge overvolt and will damage the CPU over time. So if you go from Pentium to Pentium MMX, you need to set the voltage too, on this board by setting J5 to 3-4 or 5-6.

Yes^, do be sure that you know the difference between a pentium and pentium mmx. Mmx must be set to 2.8 V, non mmx is usually set to 3.3 V or 3.5 V.
