Hi

I just buy some zip drive in external enclosure,
upon power the enclosure, the zip drive led on the front stay solid green and there are no drive activity when i inserted the disk into the drive.
the eject button also does not work and i had to using the eject hole in the back of the drive.
the drive in question is the ATAPI 250MB zip drive.

When i look into the drive, it seems that the red led that the drive using to detect disk also stay on.

can I safely assume that the drive is toasted and it is part donor?
is there any remedy to save those drive?

Thanks

EDIT: The enclosure is Fujifilm finepix HA-770
I have another one that work perfectly fine with the same powersupply.

ZIP drives were notorious for having the read head come loose, and or, to eat themselves in other inventive ways, such as with over-travel misalignment (Click of death)

It is reasonable to assume that your ZIP250 is "Unhealthy".

Hi, I open the drive and the head seems to be okey.
I think the problem may be related to the electronics on the drive, maybe the drive's CPU is fried
But it seems that i was very unlucky to have 3 unit that DoA.
