Is Socket 8 compatible with any other kind of cooler? I have one Socket 8 cooler and its dimensions look like nothing else I own, so I was wondering if by chance it can be used with something like AM2 coolers etc?

The one and only that I have has strange dimensions as well. I think they are more or less specific to that application.
