Slot-1 mATX motherboards with AGP are somewhat pricey. I can't find anything for less than 100€ which is way too much.

Are there perhaps less know models which may go at lower prices? I'm fine even with OEM motherboards.

Well, it depends entirely on the seller. Here, take a look at this

What are your other requirements other than uATX, Slot 1 and AGP?

Do you need:
- ISA?
- 100 or 133MHz FSB support?
- Coppermine/Tualatin voltage support?
- Certain max supported memory?
- Universal AGP 2.0 4x?
- Compatible with SBLive?
etc

In general 1997-1999 OEM boards are most likely to have Slot 1 in that form factor, but that means you have chipsets that frequently will only support pre-Coppermine (or ever pre-Deschutes) Slot 1 CPUs, 66MHz FSB, AGP 1.0 (think: FIC VL-603, Gigabyte GA-6EM). Conversely there exist boards with 133MHz FSB but these are rare as hens teeth, they might not have ISA slots and there's a good chance they have a Via 686B southbridge that doesn't play nice with an SBLive (think: AOpen MX64)

Something like this? 😉

Yeah, is it an OEM? Can't understand model name.

The CPU will be a PII Deschutes @350Mhz, so 100Mhz FSB. Don't need Coppermine support since I already have two socket 370 systems (a Coppermine and a Tualatin). GPU will be a Matrox G200.

I haven't decided the sound card yet so maybe an ISA slot would be nice to have in case. But it's not essential.

If G200 can be integrated on board (so no AGP slot) there is currently HP D7600-60004 (SHERWOOD-B) SLOT1 motherboard on polish auction site allegro.pl (about 25€).

I wanted a mATX because I already had only a mATX case available but yesterday just before closing time a PC arrived in my office to be scrapped... and it's a nice black full ATX case with an IDE DVD-ROM and floppy, both with black faces.

Of course now that case is safe at my home!

I recently acquired a Biostar M6VBE for a low price (not from ..bay). But I don't know common market prices for that.
A MSI MS-6156 should also be a good fit (available with Intel BX chipset but also as a Via Apollo Pro 133 variant, the latter being more common as it seems). Have seen these relatively often for well below 100 EUROs in recent times, mostly in combination with a P III 500-650MHz.

Edit: both are µATX, have AGP, 3 PCI, one ISA and ESS Solo1 / Creative ES1373 soundchips onboard.

Chaintech had few mATX slot-1 boards with Intel 440, VIA Apollo and SiS chipsets. All with various integrated sound chips: ESS Solo-1, ESS Maestro-2, Yamaha.

* Chaintech CT-6BSA - Intel 440BX + ESS Maestro-2
* Chaintech CT-6BSV - Intel 440BX + ESS Maestro-2 + Ati Rage Pro / no AGP
* Chaintech CT-6ESA2 - Intel 440EX + ESS Solo-1
* Chaintech CT-6ESV - Intel 440EX + ESS Solo-1 + ATI Rage Pro / no AGP
* Chaintech CT-6SSA2 - SiS 5600 + ESS Solo-1
* Chaintech CT-6ASA - VIA Apollo Pro II+ ESS Maestro-2
.....

Are these any real good? Or just low quality but available? To understand.
I was offered a few and can't really get around the idea of buying. They are: CT-6ATA2, BTA2 and BTML.

Ok, if someone wants to use a slot board but is it worth it with these brands?
That's preventing me from buying. Not that I need them as I have a few too many...

PC#2 PIII-1Ghz - 98SE/W2K

Have a SiS one from the list, looks decent. Tested with P2-300@450, but haven't build anything around it. Reason being, I got Chaintech CT-5RSA2 which is a more interesting mATX board for a build.

I don't recommend SIS based Slot1 motherboards due to poor memory performance

Intel > VIA > Ali ~= Sis

There is in general nothing wrong with Chaintech motherboards as a brand but the CT-6ATA2 that you mention is based on the Apollo Pro133 chipset and the one that I once owned was annoyingly slow = read much slower than 440BX.

I will look into every option, the Chaintech models with integrated sound card seem a good idea. I'm not interested in 100% DOS compatibility, I do have other dedicated systems for that.
